About Helene

How women manage global careers is the subject of Women Going Global: Strategies for Success, the third television forum by Emmy-Award winning producer Helene D. Lerner. Hosted by Lerner, the hour-long, live-to-tape program features a diverse and lively forum of corporate executives, entrepreneurs, technology leaders and business students from around the world sharing their insights, frustrations, and triumphs as they forge new routes for women in the global workplace. Issues tackled include:
  • How well are women advancing as global managers?
  • What are the stereotypes still blocking the way?
  • What skills do women bring to international assignments?
  • What is it like to live and work on a global time clock?
  • How do women balance travel and family?

In three powerful documentary segments, women who are global leaders tell their stories—from the resistance they encountered to the trade-offs they've had to make, from the mentors who supported them to the colleagues they've surprised and inspired.

Among the firsthand stories:

Deloitte Consulting Global E Business Leader Cathy Benko describes how her entire family met the challenges posed by her global responsibilities—and all grew stronger as a result.

BASF manager Denise Kingstrom discusses the benefits and trade-offs of tackling an assignment to Mexico City—"Looking at your business in another country. You really start opening yourself up to other ideas."

Start-up global entrepreneur Yael Alkalay, co-founder of red flower, talks about how she infused her business with her family's values and spirit, and how she regards the global business world—"Creating a brand and not considering the global market is naive."
