The second highest lottery ticket has been claimed by a Florida Man. But the real question is how much will the man actually receive and who is he?
Here is what we know about the first half of that question. The only winning ticket from Tuesday night’s drawing of Mega Millions was sold in Florida. The cash prize for the ticket is $783.3 million. The winner has the option to receive the money as 30 annual installments or a lump sum amount of $595.3 million after a mandatory federal tax withholding of 24%.
While the identity of the man has not been disclosed it is presumed that when he claims his ticket the world will know his name and face. In some states, certain public disclosure laws ensure that the identity of the Powerball winner will be revealed. In the winning state of Florida, the man who won the prize has 90 days before his identity will be revealed to the general public.
