Does the thought of summer and wearing skirts/shorts make you panic about chub-rub and the painful chafing you will have to endure? (Same.) But fear not–-there are natural ways you can improve and avoid the summer chafe. Here are five natural ways to deal with sticky summer thighs.
Heal the skin
If you already developed chafe, do your best to heal the sensitive skin by applying coconut oil, tea tree oil, aloe vera or olive oil to reduce redness and heal the skin again. Use one of these oils to also ensure your thighs glide.
Stay dry
Chafing feels way worse when skin is wet, so use cornstarch or baking soda to keep thighs dry.
Use compression shorts or bandlettes
If you’re going to be wearing a skirt or dress, wear spandex or exercise shorts underneath to prevent your inevitable sweaty friction. Or if you’re looking for a sexier option, try bandlettes, which are specifically designed to ward off thigh rubbing.
Try a natural deodorant
If it worked for Amy Schumer on the red carpet, it’ll work on a normal day for you. You can apply natural deodorant directly on your inner thighs to avoid uncomfortable perspiration.
