There are going to be times in your life where you feel like nothing is going your way. When this happens it can be easy to fall down the rabbit hole of self-loathing and regret. Next time you feel yourself taking this tumble, try these things to help pull you out of the negativity.
Take what you can from it.
All things happen for a reason. The silver lining of a bad situation is that you’re learning from it. This will help you grow as a person so you can be ready for your next success. Focus on the positives of your defeat and the new opportunities that await you.
Don’t ruminate.
Focusing only on your defeat will just drive you crazy and add unnecessary stress. Try to distract yourself with positive energy, like going out with friends or watching a funny movie. Or, spend your time being productive and focus on other tasks that you know you can successfully accomplish. Just try to let it go and move on, it’s worth it in the long run.
Understand that you’re probably being too hard on yourself.
Falling into the habit of being self-loathing is easy when you feel defeated, but that won’t help your situation. You need to realize that everybody fails at some point, and no one is good at everything. Look at the positive aspects about yourself and acknowledge yourself for at least trying. Failing is the first step to finding success!
Look at the bigger picture.
Although it may seem like this defeat will haunt you forever, know that there is much more success in your future. Life is too short to be focusing on the negatives of your day to day routines. The world has so much in store for you; just be patient and watch your miracles come to life.
