Nothing says spa night quite like a facial. Face masks can help tighten and clear up your skin, leaving you feeling refreshed and looking fabulous. Try these five simple detox face masks at home!
Chocolate coffee mask
1 teaspoon of instant coffee (or coffee grounds)
1 teaspoon of cocoa powder
1 tablespoon of honey
Plain yogurt (enough to make a smooth paste)
It sounds like you’re going to your nearest ice cream parlor, but don’t stuff your face just yet – at least not the inside. Combine your ingredients and spread your mixture evenly on your clean, dry face. Avoid your eyes, eyebrows, hairline and lips when you apply your mask and keep it on for 15 minutes before washing it off to reveal more beautiful skin.
Citrus avocado mask
½ of an avocado, mashed
½ of a lemon, juiced
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
This refreshing mask will leave your face feeling as smooth as a baby’s bottom. Mix everything together and apply a thin mask over your face. Wash it off with warm water after 15-20 minutes.
Honey coconut mask
1 teaspoon of coconut oil (virgin is best)
½ tablespoon of raw honey
2 tablespoons of bentonite clay
This mask uses bentonite clay to draw out impurities and toxins from your skin while the honey and coconut oil leave your skin moisturized. Leave this mask on for about 15 minutes and remove gently with warm water or a warm, damp cloth.
Grape detox
4-5 large, seedless grapes
½ – ¾ teaspoon of flour
¼ teaspoon of baking soda
This mask is great for oily skin. Remove the skins of four or five seedless grapes and mash the pulp to extract the juices. Mix in a little bit of flour to thicken and add your baking soda to form a paste. Apply to your face using a clean makeup brush and let it dry (about 15 minutes) before washing it off.
Oatmeal and vinegar mask
3 tablespoons of oatmeal
¼ cup of hot water
1 teaspoon of honey
1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar
Prep your face by washing it with warm water to open your pores and remove impurities. Pour hot water onto your oatmeal and then combine with the honey. Mix your vinegar at the end and apply the mask while it is still warm. Leave it on for 15 minutes before rinsing it off. Rinse your face again with cold water and pat dry.
