I am not a morning person. I dread the sound of my alarm. If you’re like me, and you need an extra boost when you wake up, try these simple affirmations that will keep you going all day.
“I am grateful”
When we feel stressed or overwhelmed, it’s easy to focus on what we don’t have, and forget all that we do have. Giving thanks reminds us of all the things that make us happy and puts us in a better mood.
“I am beautiful”
We all have insecurities, and some days it’s hard to see our best, and we may put ourselves down. You don’t have to be a swimsuit model. Tell yourself how special you are – inside and out. Act “as if,” and you will start to believe it.
“I can make it happen”
It can sometimes feel like nothing is going the way we want. But don’t stop there. Push on. Pick one thing you can accomplish today, and do it. That will help you take other actions.
“It will all work out”
Maybe not today, maybe not next week, and maybe not exactly the way you expected it to, but it will. You might go through tough times, but you are strong enough and smart enough to endure them. I’m not saying that you should sit back and wait for things to happen, but have faith that it will, even if it’s not in your time.
“I cannot control the actions of others”
There will always be people who try to put you down or do things that you don’t agree with. That’s their problem, not yours. Focus on what you can do, surround yourself with good people, and let the negative ones go.
