People may have recurring dreams that occur due to stress, according to Psychology Today. Recurrent dreams usually occur due to unresolved stressors in one’s life. This is verified by findings that recurrent dreams are usually accompanied by negative dream content which shows lower psychological well-being.
However, studies show even negative recurrent dreams aren’t maladaptive, according to Psychology Today. Recent research shows how some students who dream of failing an exam tend to have a better performance on their test. Researchers collected dream reports from medical students on several nights prior to their exam and found that dreams concerning the exam on the night before, or multiple nights before, predicted proportionally higher scores, even though the dreams generally were negative and ended poorly.
What are some recurring dreams?
