People are living a lot longer these days (yay!), but that also means we’ll have to do more to combat declining elasticity and wrinkles (nay). There are many products on the market that claim to be the “cure” for wrinkles but don’t get discouraged. You can naturally lift your features without getting Botox or splurging on fancy products. Here are five simple things you can try to help your skin age backward.
Eat more vitamin C
Collagen is the most abundant protein in our body, and vitamin C stimulates the production of it. Collagen serves to give structure to our skin, hair, nails, bones, tendons and ligaments (crazy, right?) More vitamin C = tighter skin.
Do facial yoga
There are exercises online that involve moving your face and putting pressure on certain areas. These exercises strengthen the facial muscles, making your skin look firmer and more toned.
Try facial acupuncture
If needles don’t freak you out, acupuncture is worth looking into. By stimulating certain areas of the face, facial acupuncture can restore muscle tone. The only drawback is that a few sessions of acupuncture can get expensive. Try setting up a consultation with a local acupuncturist to see if it’s right for you.
Make your own face mask
Taking the DIY route is always easy, cheap and fun! You can include proven anti-sag ingredients like egg whites, lemon juice, olive oil or aloe vera.
Good old H2O
If your skin is lacking elasticity, you may be dehydrated. Drinking more water will also benefit your skin in other ways because water helps your body to flush out toxins and maintain pH balance. The results? Tighter skin, fewer blemishes and a healthy glow.
