You may be physically strong, but don’t forget how important it is to be strong mentally as well. Feeling mentally weak can be exhausting. Depression, anxiety, doubts, and other concerns can take over one’s mind causing the days to drag on. But what is it to be a mentally strong woman? Try practicing these five things that a MENTALLY strong woman does every day:
They don’t take things personally
A mentally strong woman understands that not everything is a personal attack on them. They’ve mastered the art of taking criticism and shaking things off. Sometimes life just isn’t fair, but it’s not going to slow them down.
Executive Coach, Sharon Melnick, Ph.D., states, “If you are uncertain whether you are ‘good enough’, you look to other people and situations in order to evaluate or validate yourself.”
They don’t focus on obstacles
Melnick states, “When thinking of a goal or plan, a strong woman is able to look beyond the obstacles she may face. When she really wants a goal she will view these challenges as things to keep in mind, rather than reasons not to try.”
A strong woman knows that lessons often come in the form of roadblocks and detours.
They form their own opinions of themselves
Someone who is mentally strong formulates their own opinion of themself and they don’t let others’ judgments or perceptions shake them. This type of woman certainly doesn’t go looking for others’ feedback or opinions on who she is or what she does.
Never let someone sway you to believe you are less than. You know yourself better than anyone, remember that.
They don’t beat themself up for having rough days
One thing that makes a mentally strong woman is knowing that sometimes it’s okay to not feel your best and have a good cry. Sometimes it’s exactly what is needed to come back stronger the next day. Keeping things bottled up inside can cause blurred vision.
Persistence
A mentally strong woman, in spite of hiccups, roadblocks, doubts, and rough days, NEVER gives up.
