6 Signs Someone Close to You Is Suffering Emotionally

When life becomes too much to handle, some people might sadly give up. They don’t keep their head up and often times become victim to their own suffering and pain. If you suspect that someone you love might be hurting emotionally, here are a few signs that may help confirm it.

Personality changes
The jovial person you once knew has left the building. You notice that this person is a lot more angry lately. It’s tough to be around them because their bad mood always sucks the energy right out of you and others.

They sever ties
No matter what you do, they push you away. They’ll continuously say everything is OK, but you know better. You can tell that they don’t want to let you in. Most of all, you realize that it’s not personal; they act that way with everyone else too. You’ll find that they’ve stopped being social and they even make excuses to avoid being around others.

Self-Sabotage
You’re aware that this person had goals in life but lately their actions have only been setting them up for failure. Perhaps they’ve been procrastinating a lot or they’ve resorted to more extreme behaviors such as using drugs or cutting. Whatever their actions may be, this person seems to be throwing their life away instead of building a bright future for themselves.

Always pessimistic
Keeping an open mind is a real struggle for them. They think very narrow and negatively. They don’t seem to have any positive outlooks on life and no matter what the situation is, they don’t have the slightest bit of optimism left in them.

They feel worthless
When someone is suffering emotionally, it’s really hard for them to have faith in themselves. Due to their constant negativity, their self-motivation withers away as the clock ticks.

Unproductive
Those that are suffering emotionally lack drive. They have either lost their ambitions or have none at all. They’re not enthusiastic about anything and they don’t set goals for themselves, therefore not accomplishing anything.
