Actress Tanya Roberts, known for the James Bond film A View to a Kill and the hit TV comedy That ’70s Show, has died at age 65.
Her rep confirmed to TMZ that the star passed away Sunday, Jan. 3 after she collapsed in her home on Dec. 24 following a walk with her dogs. She was hospitalized and placed on a ventilator but did not recover from the health issue that was not related to the coronavirus, according to her team.
TMZ got a quote from the rep from Tanya’s husband, Lance, saying, “As I held her in her last moments, she opened her eyes.”
Now the rep, Mike Pingel, tells TMZ, Lance got a call just after 10 AM Monday from the hospital saying Tanya was still alive. Pingel said Lance truly believed Tanya had died.
Tanya, née Victoria Leigh Blum, starred as Bond girl Stacey Sutton opposite Roger Moore‘s 007 in the 1985 flick A View to a Kill.
Roberts had only left her home only three times in 2020, according to Pingel. Two of those times were veterinarian visits for her dogs, he said.
The Bronx, New York, native connected with her fans virtually during the pandemic. She streamed from her Facebook page weekly, speaking about a number of topics. She last held one of those online conversations on December 19th.
The media buzz and her time on “Charlie’s Angels” helped her secure significant film roles in “The Beastmaster” (1982), the title role in “Sheena” (1984) and as a Bond Girl in “A View to a Kill” (1985).
Fans, former colleagues and friends paid tribute to Roberts after her sudden passing was announced.
