Naomi Judd, Grammy-winning Country Star dies at 76. Her daughters, Wynonna and Ashley, and other family members were grief-stricken.
The daughters released a statement, “Today, we sisters experienced a tragedy…We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness.”
Her husband, singer Larry Strickland, will not be making any further statement, and asked the press respect the family’s privacy.
The Country Music Hall of Fame will be inducting the Judds tonight as planned. They were supposed to go on tour this Fall as well.
Naomi Judd published nine books, the most recent was the memoir: River of Time: My Descent into Depression and How I Emerged with Hope (2016). The Judds were known for many songs including “Love Can Build a Bridge.”
