The world works in mysterious ways!
After a devastating breakup with Girard Pique, Shakira is taking time to focus on herself, as she revealed in a speech given at Billboard’s first Latin Women in Music gala.
“But there comes a time in the life of every woman where she no longer depends on someone else to love and accept herself just as she is,” she said. “A time when the search for someone else is replaced by the search for oneself. A time when the desire to be perfect is replaced by the desire to be authentic, and where finding someone who is faithful is less important than being faithful to ourselves.”
Despite Shakira’s apparent focus on herself, she brushed shoulders with Tom Cruise at the Miami Grand Prix, where the two were photographed together.
Insiders have also revealed that Cruise sent Shakira flowers, following their meeting.
The same source has said that, “[Cruise] is extremely interested in pursuing her. Shakira needs a soft pillow to fall on, and that could be Tom.”
While there has been no indication that the pair have begun a relationship, the speculation caused the hashtag #STAYAWAYFROMHER to trend on Twitter, with fans of the pop star rushing to insist the actor stop pursuing her.
