Rita Wilson to the rescue!
A recent snapshot of Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson at the Cannes Film Festival portrayed both the husband and wife as being visibly angry and upset over something.
With fingers raised and the Forrest Gump star looking angry at an anonymous man in a tuxedo while on the red carpet, many tabloids were quick to assume the worst of the actor who just recently shared the fact that he isn’t always the most pleasant while on set.
However, Wilson took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday to clear the air over what was going on in the seemingly heated discussion.
“This is called I can’t hear you. People are screaming. What did you say? Where are we supposed to go? she wrote over a screenshot of one of the tabloid articles. “But that doesn’t sell stories!”
“Nice try. We had a great time!” she added. “Go see Asteroid City!”
Asteroid City is the latest film from the iconic avant garde filmmaker Wes Anderson that stars Tom Hanks alongside big names like Scarlett Johansson, Margot Robbie, Bryan Cranston, and Steve Carell, hitting the theaters on June 16.
Vincent Chapalain, a red carpet manager for the Cannes Film Festival who appears to be the tuxedoed man in the photograph, took to Twitter to further clarify the discussion he had with the Hollywood couple.
“They just ask[ed] me if they should go back to the start of the mat with the rest of the film crew (I’m not security),” he wrote.
For anyone who was worried that the “nicest guy in Hollywood” is actually this demanding diva who yells at red carpet workers, don’t look to the tabloids for answers to those worries.
