UPDATE 06/21/2023: Treat Williams was laid to rest on June 19th, in his home state of Vermont.
The private memorial service was held in the Williams’ home. Reportedly, he has been buried at the Rowayton Union Cemetery, in Connecticut.
UPDATE 06/15/2023: A witness on the scene of the accident has revealed that Treat Williams was “conscious and verbal,” after his motorcycle crash.
The witness, Matt Rapphahn, said that, “emergency services were asking him questions. He was in a great deal of pain, but they had to get him onto the backboard to get him onto the stretcher and then onto the ambulance.”
Williams would later perish of his injuries. He was 71 years old.
UPDATE 06/14/2023: Treat Williams was in his home state of Vermont, when a 35-year-old motorist in a 2008 Honda Element took an unexpected left turn, causing Williams to collide with the vehicle. While police report that this stretch of road is not a “dangerous area”, no “formal declaration of fault” could yet be made. The 35-year-old male “was screened and we determined there wasn’t any evidence of impairment”. We will provide updates to this story as they are available.
ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Treat Williams, Broadway and film actor, has passed away at the age of 71. Williams was involved in a motorcycle accident.
“It is with great sadness that we report that our beloved Treat Williams has passed away tonight in Dorset, Vermont, after a fatal motorcycle accident. As you can imagine, we are shocked and greatly bereaved at this time,” read a statement released by the Williams’ family. “Treat was full of love for his family, for his life and for his craft, and was truly at the top of his game in all of it. It is all so shocking right now, but please know that Treat was dearly and deeply loved and respected by his family and everyone who knew him.”
Williams is survived by his wife, Pam Van Sant and his two children, Gill and Elinor. Williams recently posted a tribute to his daughter on his Instagram.

Famous friends and coworkers poured in messages of love and respect for the veteran actor, including John Travolta and James Woods.
“Treat and I got our start together in NYC appearing in 2 Broadway shows: Grease and Over Here. I’m so sorry, Treat. My thoughts are with you and your family. You will be missed. Love, John.”
James Woods wrote, “Treat and I spent months in Rome filming Once Upon a Time in America. It can be pretty lonely on the road during a long shoot, but his resilient good cheer and sense of humor was a Godsend. I really loved him and am devastated that he’s gone. #RIP #TreatWilliams pic.twitter.com/2FTBNJJ6lW”
