After Pat Sajak’s retirement announcement, a few people have put in their hat for the coveted hosting gig. Most notably, actress Whoopi Goldberg!
On a recent episode of ‘The View’, the co-hosts discussed Pat Sajak’s exit with Ken Jennings, the current host of ‘Jeopardy!’. While asking Jennings who he thinks should replace Sajak, Goldberg piped up, “I want that job! I think it’d be lots of fun.”
Joy Behar and Sara Haines joked that they could fill the position of Vanna White, revealing the letters. And while it may seem like an odd jump, Goldberg hosted the gameshow ‘Hollywood Squares’ for six years.
Sajak has hosted ‘Wheel of Fortune’ since 1987. It seems likely that Sajak and White will depart at the same time, at the end of the 41st season.
