Salma Hayek, the acclaimed actress-producer, has accomplished so much in her life. From her critically acclaimed on-screen performances to her prolific producing career to her advocacy work, Salma has shown time and time again that she is a force to be reckoned with. But one aspect of her life that has garnered a lot of attention over the years is her marriage to French businessman and billionaire François-Henri Pinault.
In a 2009 interview with Glamour magazine, Salma revealed that she had a “phobia” of getting married. “It was like an intervention. I don’t think I ever told this story. No, they just took me to the court. My parents, my brother, they were all ganging up on me. I had a phobia of the marriage thing,” she said.
Despite her fears, Salma went through with the wedding and has been married to François-Henri for over a decade now.
But Salma’s family life isn’t just comprised of her husband and their daughter Valentina. François-Henri has three other children from previous relationships, and Salma considers them all to be her own. “The huge blessing I’ve had is that my husband has three other children. So I have four. And they are all so different,” she said.
Salma may have once had a “phobia” of getting married, but it’s clear that she has overcome that fear and built a beautiful life for herself and her family. On her 57th birthday, we celebrate all that she has accomplished and look forward to seeing what she will achieve next.
