UPDATE 10/16/2023: Our hearts are broken at the tragic news of Suzanne Somers’ death. In the early hours of October 15, 2023 she peacefully passed away according to a statement to NBC News from Somers’ publicist, R. Couri Hay, on behalf of the family. “Suzanne was surrounded by her loving husband Alan, her son Bruce, and her immediate family,” the statement continued. Somner had been fighting “aggressive” breast cancer for over 23 years.
Somer’s family had come to her home in order to prepare for her upcoming birthday on October 16th, 2023. But now the family will celebrate her memory and her lasting legacy.
In a tear jerking revelation, Instyle has learned that Somers’ husband Alan read her a love letter. Here are some selections from the letter:
“I COULD GO ON AD INFINITUM, BUT YOU GET IT. WHAT BRAND OF LOVE DO I FEEL FOR MY WIFE SUZANNE? CAN I FIND IT IN ANY OF THE ABOVE? A RESOUNDING NO!!!! THERE IS NO VERSION OF THE WORD THAT IS APPLICABLE TO SUZANNE AND I EVEN USE THE WORD APPLICABLE ADVISEDLY.
“THE CLOSEST VERSION IN WORDS ISN’T EVEN CLOSE. IT’S NOT EVEN A FRACTION OF A FRACTION OF A FRACTION. UNCONDITIONAL LOVE DOES NOT DO IT. I’LL TAKE A BULLET FOR YOU DOESN’T DO IT. I WEEP WHEN I THINK ABOUT MY FEELINGS FOR YOU. FEELINGS… THAT’S GETTING CLOSE, BUT NOT ALL THE WAY,” Alan shared before adding, “55 YEARS TOGETHER, 46 MARRIED AND NOT EVEN ONE HOUR APART FOR 42 OF THOSE YEARS,” he shared. “EVEN THAT DOESN’T DO IT. EVEN GOING TO BED AT 6 O’CLOCK AND HOLDING HANDS WHILE WE SLEEP DOESN’T DO IT. STARING AT YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACE WHILE YOU SLEEP DOESN’T DO IT.”
The actor concluded, “I’M BACK TO FEELINGS. THERE ARE NO WORDS. THERE ARE NO ACTIONS. NO PROMISES. NO DECLARATIONS. EVEN THE GREEN SHADED SCHOLARS OF THE OXFORD UNIVERSITY PRESS HAVE SPENT 150 YEARS AND STILL HAVE FAILED TO COME UP WITH THAT ONE WORD. SO I WILL CALL IT, ‘US’, UNIQUELY, MAGICALLY, INDESCRIBABLY WONDERFUL ‘US.’”
ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Suzanne was one of the actors in “Three’s Company and had parts in television shows like “The Rockford Files” and “The Six Million Dollar Man.” She was also an author and a successful businesswoman.
Her family were planning her 77th birthday, in fact, she died on the eve of it. Her loved ones surrounded her as she passed. R. Couri Hay, her publicist said, she had “survived an aggressive form of breast cancer for over 23 years.”
We don’t know exactly what she died from yet.
