Friends are like the family members we got to choose. In honor of National Friendship Day approaching this Sunday, we wanted to share a video clip from “Best Friends: the Power of Sisterhood” – one of the shows we’ve produced on the power of female friendships, featuring Jamie Lee Curtis and other terrific women.
We also asked our community to let us know what makes their best friend special. Here’s what some of you had to share:
Michelle – “I cherish her because she is always there for me. She’s never too busy, she goes beyond what’s asked. We do that for each other. It’s what an awesome gal pal does! We are strong women who take care of one another!”
D’Ana – “They keep me grounded & are always there for me, no matter what it is! I can tell them anything! Love them so much! Without them, I would be lost! They make me laugh when all seems lost & help me keep goin.”
Priyadarshni – “You have never judged me for what I was and what I am, you always listened to me and been by all my thick and thin. All these years we have shared our journeys together with all the determination and instinct! I won’t mince a single word from calling you my bff!”
Ruth – “For always being there for me, listening to me, making me laugh & cry (with laughter). I love how we can just say one word or give a look and we just know what the other one is thinking

Cheryl – “She has stood by me for 30 years. She has been my rock and sometimes therapist through the trials of life. Most recently helping me cope with the break-up of my marriage.”
