Many people know the complex love story of Shania Twain and Frederic Thiebauld, which started after their respective spouses left them… for each other!
In the process of mourning their marriages, Shania and Frederic realized that they make an excellent couple themselves.
“[He] has been the most constant companion and support,” Twain said, early in their relationship. “We leaned on one another through the ups and downs, taking turns holding each other up. We’ve become stronger and closer through it all, as have our children, Eja and Johanna. I got to observe Fred going through the same thing I was and I admired how he handled it. That is where I fell in love with him, because he was so exemplary in every way.”
The pair became engaged in 2010, when Shania wrote, “I am excited to share some personal news with you; I’m in love! Frederic Nicolas Thiebaud has been a true gift to me as a compassionate, understanding friend and over time, an amazing love has blossomed from this precious friendship. Fred and I are happy to announce, our ENGAGEMENT!”
