Amber Heard is leaving her life in America behind, a pursuing a quiet life in Spain with her daughter, Oonaugh.
“She’s bilingual in Spanish and is happy there, raising her daughter away from all the noise,” a friend to Heard said. “I don’t think she is in any hurry to return to work or to Hollywood, but she will probably come back when the time is right for the right project.”
The right project may have arrived for Heard, considering she is set to reprise her role as Mera in the ‘Aquaman’ franchise.
Originally, the President of DC, Walter Hamada, claimed that, “The reality is it’s not uncommon on movies for two leads to not have chemistry and that it’s sort of movie magic and editorial – the ability to put performances together with the magic of a great score and how you put the pieces together, you can fabricate that chemistry,” he said in part, according to the outlet. He added, “The chemistry wasn’t there. . . . This one was more difficult because of lack of chemistry between the two.”
An original script of ‘Aquaman 2’ saw Heard’s character have a “strong romantic arc”, but the second draft of the script saw her character’s screentime “pared down […] dramatically”. It was confirmed, however, at this year’s CinemaCon, that Heard will reprise the role. Hamada went onto say, “My understanding is actually the production went very smoothly.”
