Amy Adams and her husband, actor and visual artist, Darren De Gallo, have been together since 2001 and married since 2015. The “Enchanted” princess seems to have a fairytale-like relationship with De Gallo, who supports her career and ambitions, despite being in the same industry.
She told Vanity Fair how they met, saying, “I got to know him outside of class and I just found him to be such a genuine, caring person … He demanded that we go out on a date. He said, ‘I know you’re getting over this [other] guy, but I’m taking you out on Wednesday, and I was like, ‘And so you are!’”
After dating, De Gallo and Adams had an eight-year engagement, during which they had their only child, a daughter named Aviana Olea. The couple later tied the knot in 2015, in a highly secretive ceremony, with a strict no-photographs policy. Adams released a single picture from the wedding for their five-year wedding anniversary, showing her family of three in their formalwear.
The most romantic part of their relationship is their admirable dynamic with one and other. De Gallo and Adams clearly respect each other and are sure to vocalize that often. Adams told People,
“He’s really special. I’m really lucky because he’s not competitive with me. He supports and embraces my success as mine. And he has his own goals for himself, but he never makes my success his failure.”
Similarly, De Gallo wrote a lovely Instagram caption to celebrate Adams for Mother’s Day. Beneath the photo, which showed the backs of Adam’s and Aviana’s heads as they watched a rainbow over the ocean, read, “♥️♥️ What an incredible example & guide our daughter has in you. Lucky to be witness to your unconditional love!! #grateful #mothersday2021 ♥️♥️”
