Anderson Cooper is opening up about whether or not his young sons, Wyatt (3) and Sebastian (11 months), will receive an inheritance.
“I think it’s a curse… From the time I was growing up, if I felt like there was some pot of gold waiting for me, I don’t know if I would have been so motivated,” he told Howard Stern.
“I don’t believe in passing on huge amounts of money,” he said, in a different interview. “I’m not that interested in money, but I don’t intend to have some sort of pot of gold for my son. I’ll go with what my parents said… ‘College will be paid for, and then you got to get on it.'”
That mentality likely came from Cooper’s father. He said to People: “My dad made clear to me there wasn’t a Vanderbilt fortune waiting for me. In retrospect, I’m really glad he did that because from the get-go, it just made it clear that whatever my mom’s past was, it had nothing to do with me from a financial standpoint.”
