Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s messy and public divorce continues as Pitt calls Jolie “vindictive” in newly released court documents.
Pitt also claimed that Jolie meant to ‘inflict harm upon him’ by selling their stake in their Chateau Miraval Winery.
“The vineyard became Pitt’s passion — and a profitable one, as Miraval, under Pitt’s stewardship, has grown into a multimillion-dollar global business and one of the world’s most highly regarded producers of rosé wine,” the new legal documents claim. “Jolie, meanwhile, contributed nothing to Miraval’s success. Instead, she allowed Pitt to pour money and sweat equity into the business in reliance on the consent right she owed him and a right of first refusal her business entity owed his.”
This is not the first time the word ‘vindictive’ has been thrown around in this ongoing legal battle.
Back in September 2022, Jolie’s former company Nouvel claimed that Pitt waged a ‘vindictive war’ against his Mr. and Mrs. Smith costar in order to control the winery he and Jolie purchased in 2008. The company went on to call Pitt’s actions a well-master-minded plan.
According to ET, Jolie assured Pitt that their shared winery would be “an investment and business [their children] will inherit” following their 2016 split.
But this would change in 2021 as the new documents allege, “In the summer of 2021, amid a heated child custody dispute with Pitt, Jolie terminated those discussions and secretly purported to sell a 50 percent stake in the family home and family business to Tenute del Mondo. Tenute del Mondo is part of the Russia-affiliated spirits conglomerate Stoli Group.”
The estate in question is a 1,300-acre estate located in Southern France and is most popular for the rosé wine it produces.
