Bradley Cooper spent the pandemic like the rest of us: indoors. But, instead of languishing about his mansion, he was all-hands-on-deck, taking care of his immunocompromised mother and his toddler daughter. He discussed his daily routine with his A Star Is Born co-star, Anthony Ramos,
“I’m with my daughter and my mother and my two dogs, and we have not left the house,” he said. “My mother is going to be 80 and she has a colostomy bag, so I can’t let anybody in the house. And I can’t leave the house, because if she gets it, it’s over.”
In the meantime, Cooper said he was “running a one-man preschool”, for daughter, Lea. “We get up, we do swim class in the bathtub.”
Cooper’s mother, Gloria Campano, has lived with him since his father passed away of lung cancer in 2011. He spoke about the adjustment in 2013, saying,
“Let’s face it: It’s probably not easy for her, by the way, to be living with her son. It’s life. My family is very close, and my dad dying was brutal for all of us. It was a schism, and its aftershock has not stopped. And we need each other. So here we are.”
Though they might need each other, their relationship isn’t based solely on responsibility. Cooper genuinely enjoys spending time around his mother, saying,
“I love having her. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
