Bruce Springsteen has announced that he will be postponing all scheduled tour dates until 2024, following a bout of peptic ulcers.
“Bruce Springsteen has continued to recover steadily from peptic ulcer disease over the past few weeks and will continue treatment through the rest of the year on doctor’s advice,” a statement from the band read. “With this in mind, and out of an abundance of caution, all remaining 2023 tour dates for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band will be postponed until 2024.”
“No need to be anxious or afraid,” Stevie Van Zandt said. “Nothing serious. Just a temporary situation. We will all be back in full force very soon.”
Springsteen had previously postponed shows this year, saying he had “taken ill”. He put out an independent statement, which read in part:
“Thanks to all my friends and fans for your good wishes, encouragement, and support. I’m on the mend and can’t wait to see you all next year.”
