On Saturday, Anastasia Soare, CEO and founder of Anastasia Beverly Hills, celebrated the 25th anniversary for her cosmetics company. To celebrate, she invited 25 women to a party who inspired her in her career; including Oprah Winfrey, who turned 69 the next day.
To Oprah’s surprise, Soare prepared a cake for the former TV host in honor of her birthday. Other celebrities in attendance included Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Sharon Stone, Sofia Vergara, Heidi Klum, Jessica Alba, and Rita Wilson.
Kardashian posted to her Instagram on Monday in honor of the celebration, featuring photos and selfies of herself alongside the others celebs in attendance, including Oprah.
“Celebrating @anastasiasoare’s 25 year anniversary of her brand @anastasiabeverlyhills,” she wrote. “The women who have been on this journey with you coming together to celebrate you was magical! You are the epitome of the American Dream and I couldn’t be more proud of you. I look up to you, you give the best advice and hearing everyone’s kind words about you just reminded me what I already knew. ✨”
In Kim’s Instagram Story on Sunday, she shouted out the birthday girl with photos from the previous night of both the two of them and Oprah’s two-tiered birthday cake.
“Happy birthday @oprah,” she captioned the selfie of the two. “@sharonstone said it best last night toasting to you that you mean the world to the world!”
JLo also took to Instagram to show love for Anastasia and Oprah.
“Lovely dinner last night celebrating Anastasia’s 25th anniversary 🤍,” she captioned her photos.
Not attending the event, Oprah’s good friend, Gayle King, wanted to praise Winfrey with her own birthday post on Instagram.
“It’s a big day for all of us who love @oprah !” she wrote. “Happy everything to the girl who lives her best life everyday & does what she can to help everybody else do the same …”
Another non-attendee, Kerry Washingston, posted for the “birthday goddess” on her Instagram.
“There’s no brighter light than today’s birthday goddess, @oprah. Thank you for all that you do ❤️🙏🏾 Sending you so much love today! happy birthday!!!!!”
Instead of taking to social media to celebrate another year around the sun, Oprah posted to her website, Oprah Daily, to talk about what this birthday means to her.
“Today, as many of you know, is my 69th birthday,” she wrote. “For me, it is such a reward to be turning 69 and to be strong and healthy. This time last year, I was getting over a double knee operation, and now I have never felt better. As I turn 69, I choose not to focus on the number. For me, the number has always just been a marker. Instead, I choose to celebrate the time I’ve spent living, taking note of all the shifts, the wins, the accomplishments, how much I’ve grown over the past year, and I look forward to all that is to come.”
“And as I’ve said, with each birthday, you get to decide whether to mark it as the end of your greatest days or the beginning of your finest hours,” she continued. “I choose the latter and hope that you do, too, because each trip around the sun gifts us with a new beginning.”
And as Oprah does so well, she decides to not focus on herself, but rather use her birthday as a means to give advice to others who are growing older and who may be concerned with their own climbing age.
“However you feel about your birthday,” she wrote, “consider this: Take age out of the equation—think about how you feel inside your body and reflect on how far you’ve come over the past 365 days.”
With 70 just on the horizon, Oprah knows as well as most that life is about reflection and moving forward using what you have learned throughout your life.
She concludes her birthday message by saying, “I hope y’all have a wonderful week—I’m going to have a wonderful birthday.”
