Cher is filing for a temporary conservatorship over her son, Elijah Blue Allman, 47.
If awarded conservatorship over her son, Cher will be able to accept payments issued to Allman in trust. Representatives for Cher stated in court documents that any money given directly to Allman “will be immediately spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself and putting Elijah’s life at risk.”
“Elijah is currently unable to manage his finances and the distribution of funds directly to Elijah would not be in his best interests.”
Both of Allman’s half-siblings have gone on record nominating Cher as conservator for Altman.
