As one of Hollywood’s favorite couples comes up on their nine years of being together it’s time to take a look back at George and Amal Clooney’s relationship throughout the years. First putting a ring on in 2014, George told CBS about when he knew that the human rights attorney was the one for him. He joked about how he went about proposing to Amal, who was 36 at the time.
“We had never talked about it so there wasn’t like a ‘Hey, maybe we should get married.’ Literally, I dropped it on her … and she just kept saying, ‘Oh my God,’ and ‘Wow!'” he stated. “We just sat there and finally I said, ‘Listen, I’m 52 and I’ve been on my knee now for about 28 minutes, so I gotta get an answer out of this or I’m going to throw a hip out. I might not be able to stand back up!'”
Recent news have revealed that the couple is planning to rejuvenate their love for one another by renewing their vows in Italy. Insiders close to the couple shared that they are looking at a “spiritual blessing” in Italy.
The couple’s news came as a good sign after rumors swirled that the couple was on the rocks during the 2020 quarantine. According to the National Enquirer, the pair clashed over lifestyle differences including George’s partying and Amal’s controlling tendencies. However, sources told the Daily Mail that the couple is currently spending time in Italy with their twins, Ella and Alexander who are both six years old.
It is obvious that the Clooney’s are more in love than ever, congrats to them on almost a decade of love!
