Raquel Welch’s cause of death is revealed nearly two months after her death.
According to the death certificate, Welch died from cardiac arrest. It was also revealed via the document that the late star had suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, which was not publicly disclosed during her life.
Steven Sauer, Welch’s rep, previously talked with ET about the Fantastic Voyage alum’s death, stating, “The legendary bombshell actress of film, television and stage, passed away peacefully early [Wednesday, February 15] morning after a brief illness,” adding, “The 82 year-old actress burst into Hollywood in her initial roles in One Million [Years], B.C. and Fantastic Voyage. Her career spanned over 50 years starring in over 30 films and 50 television series and appearances. The Golden Globe winner, in more recent years, was involved in a very successful line of wigs. Raquel leaves behind her two children, son Damon Welch and her daughter, Tahnee Welch.”
Recent studies have shown that women are more prone to heart disease, which if left untreated, can ultimately lead to cardiac arrest or other heart related issues.
