If all of these headlines about Kevin Costner are beginning to sound eerily similar, there’s a good reason. A lot of elements in Costner’s current divorce proceedings mirror his previous divorce to Cindy Silva, which ended in the actor losing $80 million and becoming functionally homeless, after being removed from his family home.
Now, Christine Baumgartner is refusing to leave their current family home in Santa Barbara, despite Costner making it extremely apparent during their prenup negotiations that he had no intention of repeating history. One of the most recent statements from Costner’s representatives said that, “securing his right to access his separate property residences in the event of a divorce was an important priority” for him. Kevin was married once before and, upon separation, he found himself without a home base and unable to live in his own home. He never wanted that to happen again.”
While Costner’s first divorce was set apart by infidelity on his end—damaging his claim on any shared property—any speculation that he had an affair during this marriage is exactly that: speculation. His representative stated on Thursday, “Any suggestion of infidelity on the part of Mr. Costner is absolutely not true.”
That said, it seems to always come back to real estate for Costner. Updates will be provided to this story as they are made available.
