Dick Van Dyke, 97, was involved in a small car accident Wednesday morning, in Malibu, California, police confirmed to CNN.
He was driving his 2018 Lexus LS 500 when he collided with a gate.
A spokesperson with Malibu Police Department said that the Marry Poppins star only suffered “minor injuries” which included “bleeding from the nose and mouth” and a possible “concussion”, per KTLA News.
No drugs or alcohol are reported to be involved, but the streets in the area in which the accident occurred have recently been slick due to heavy rainfall the past week or so.
Van Dyke reportedly didn’t go to the hospital, and instead had a friend come pick him up.
This accident comes just weeks after the former Dick Van Dyke Show host appeared on The Masked Singer as the oldest contestant in the show’s short history.
Police have submitted paperwork to the DMV requesting that Van Dyke retake his driving test.
Despite being 97 years old, Dick is fairly independent and does what he can to keep himself youthful, including a workout routine and constant singing and dancing at home with his wife Arlene Silver.
He’s even discussed keeping his performing career going, telling People in February about wanting to return to the stage and “do a play”.
“I’ve got enough material together to sit down to a one-man show, which I think I may do just for fun. I love to do that.”
