UPDATE 10/12/2023: Cher has denied the accusation that she was involved in kidnapping her son, Elijah Blue Allman, from his honeymoon suite.
“I’m not suffering from any problem that millions of people in the United States aren’t,” she said, referring to the rumor that the kidnapping was related to Allman’s alleged addiction. “I’m a mother. This is my job — one way or another, to try to help my children. You do anything for your children. Whenever you can help them, you just do it because that’s what being a mother is. But it’s joy, even with heartache — mostly, when you think of your children, you just smile and you love them, and you try to be there for them.”
ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Marie Angela King, the estranged wife of Cher’s son, Elijah Blue Allman, is claiming that Cher kidnapped her husband from their honeymoon suite.
King claims that four individuals were sent to her and her husband by Cher, resulting in Allman being detained and placed into an unnamed facility, where she cannot reach him.
“I am currently unaware of my husband’s wellbeing or whereabouts,” King wrote, in December of 2022, though the information was recently released. “I am very concerned and worried about him. I was told by one of the four men who took him that they were hired by petitioner’s mother. Since August 2022, I have been told that I am not allowed to see or speak to [Allman] who is currently in lockdown at a treatment facility that is undisclosed to me. I am also told [Allman] has no access to his phone.”
King also attests that Cher had her removed from their family home and is not allowing her to collect her belongings.
“I did so on the belief that my support payments would be timely, and I would be able to afford housing. I was not allowed to retrieve all my belongings from our primary home and residence, nor was I given the opportunity to inventory our assets.”
