In recent years, dream interpretation has been more and more common. Whether dream analysis and meanings are actually true remains to be determined. Is there a hidden meaning behind dreams or are they simply images from your subconscious replaying moments from the day?
If you believe in dream interpretations and/or are interested in what common recurring dreams mean, read on.
Showing Up to School or Work Naked
When you have this kind of dream, this usually represents vulnerability and anxiety of some sort in your waking life. Ian Wallace, a dream psychologist who wrote The Complete A to Z Dictionary of Dreams, and his research reveals that this dream is “common to people who have accepted a promotion, gone off to a new job, or who are coming into public view.”
Falling
Falling dreams usually mean that something in your life is not going well and may suggest that you have a crossroads and a big decision to make about your life. “Dreaming of falling is very common. It is a symbol of fear in real life – perhaps of failing at work or in your love life,” claims Russell Grant, author of The Illustrated Dream Dictionary. “Falling often expresses a need to let yourself go more and enjoy life more.”
Being Chased
When you dream that you are being chased, this usually may mean that you have to face something in your life, but you are running away and avoiding it. Although this dream may make you wake up in a cold sweat, Wallace considers it a positive sign. He believes that this dream is supposed to encourage the dreamer to finally face a problem that has been hanging over his or her head.
Cheating Partner
If you dream that a partner is cheating on you, this can signal your anxieties and insecurities about your romantic relationship. Lauren Lawrence, a New York Daily News columnist who writes about dream analysis and a former host of Celebrity Nightmares Decoded, states that a lack of trust in a romantic relationship tends to spark this dream.
Flying
Flying dreams have many interpretations. On one side, Wallace claims that the dream encourages a person to let go of current issues and allow things to “fall naturally into place.” However, according to Tony Crisp, author of Dream Dictionary, flying dreams can represent feelings of freedom and independence. On the other hand, they can also indicate a desire to flee or escape from the realities of life.
A Passenger in an Out of Contol Car
Sometimes, dream meanings and interpretations are straightforward. In this instance, being a passenger or riding in an out of control car or vehicle may symbolize your fears and anxieties about not having enough control in where you want to go. Wallace writes, “You may feel that you don’t have enough control on your road to success.”
