An engaged couple from Georgia, Logan Gordy and Trista Cheeks, have both suffered grievous injuries after a firetruck overturned on them. Gordy and Cheeks volunteered with the Rock Hill VFD and were responding to a fire at the time of their injuries.
Both individuals were rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital via Life Flight and are suffering from serious brain bleeds. Cheeks had an operation and is currently recovering in the ICU. Gordy’s bleed is inoperable and intensified by swelling. While Gordy is not responsive, the Taylor County Fire Department, which identified the victims, says that he has moved his fingers.
The TCFD asked for “love, thoughts and prayers.”
“Still keep them prayers coming. We serve a mighty God who can heal. He has a Big Testimony.”
Gordy and Cheeks are set to be married in October.
