A Brooklyn man has hit the jackpot once again after a scratch off won him 10 million dollars for the second year in a row. According to New York lottery officials, Wayne Murray of Brooklyn recently won $10 million on a 200X scratch-off game.
In August 2022, Murray won his first bout of millions after purchasing a Black Titanium game scratch-off ticket from a local Brooklyn convenience store. Murray purchased his second winning ticket there as well.
“It feels very humbling and liberating,” Murray told lottery officials at the time of his first win.
The victor decided to take his winnings in a single lump sum payment of over 6 million for the second year in a row
Hassan Nabil, the convenience store’s clerk, spoke highly of the regular at his storefront.
“[Murray]’s very friendly with the locals and very generous with his time. He could have moved out of the neighborhood after winning the first time, but he stood his ground,” Nabil said. “Money changes a lot of people, but he doesn’t show off or anything. He keeps it real, keeps it honest.”
“Twice in a row — what are the odds? You can’t even think about it. It’s not comprehensible,” Nabil continued. “It’s a game for him, so he just keeps playing.”
The odds of winning the 200x scratch off game are 1 in 3.64 million while the odds of winning the Black Titanium are around 1 in 3.53 million. Talk about some good luck.
