The ‘Deadpool’ actor turns 47 today and his friend and co-worker, Rob McElhenney, is building him a park.
McElhenney and Reynolds co-own a football team in Wrexham, Wales, where the “Ryan Rodney Reynolds Memorial Park” will be located. McElhenney pulled in fellow star, Chris Pratt, to make the announcement:
While Reynolds is known for his dry humor and charm he is a devoted family man. In a speech honoring her husband before he received an award, Lively spoke about Reynold’s commitment to their family despite his work.
“He races home, whether it’s from across the globe or a meeting across the street, he is hard-wired to get home. If he came home from set not in his wardrobe, we would be very concerned. He would show up with mud, fake blood, real blood, prosthetic scars, superhero suits, shoes or clown makeup, daddy always comes home. And that man races back to his real life like nothing I have ever seen. Especially not by someone who is able to be so all in, in his work life.”
As Reynold’s celebrates his 47th birthday he surely will be surrounded by nothing but love and warmth. Reynold’s recently made headlines when he called out SAG-AFTRA’s policy on Halloween costumes for this upcoming holiday. According to the policy, “The union is prohibiting actors from dressing up as popular characters from struck content and then posting the images on social media.”
Reynold’s sent a tweet out after this announcement poking fun at the policy’s strict rules. “I look forward to screaming ‘scab’ at my 8-year-old all night. She’s not in the union but she needs to learn.”
