Amid the news of the impending Costner/Baumgartner divorce, people are wondering how the children of the couple are faring with the news.
Costner and Baumgartner have three children, Cayden (15), Hayes (14), and Grace (13). While the siblings are generally kept out of the limelight, Cayden has been modelling since he was 10 months old.
Whether or not the couple would have children was a debate early in their relationship. Costner already had four kids and worried about his ability to parent as he got older.
“Christine wanted a child, but I was afraid I couldn’t be an effective father,” he said, in 2008. “[One day] I woke up and thought, ‘Am I going to lose a beautiful woman who is willing to be with me to my very last breath because I am afraid to say yes to a child?’ That’s all it took. … I decided that I was not going to miss out on love.”
The couple is expecting to share joint custody of the children, who reside in the family home in southern California. Baumgartner is expected to leave the family home tomorrow, according to the court’s ruling.
