At the premiere of his new film, John Wick: Chapter 4, Keanu Reeves fielded questions from a spirited crowd, during the post-screening Q&A.
Several fans asked straightforward questions about his next career moves, including questions about whether he was involved in the upcoming series, “The Continental” (No.) or the movie, “Ballerina”. (Yes, as a cameo.) One brassy person in the crowd had a more personal question to ask of the action star: will you marry me?
During the Q&A, an audience member yelled, “I’ll marry you!” to Reeves. Reeves, hardly missing a beat, shouted back, “Be careful what you wish for!”
While, I’m sure the fan would have been more than happy to go to the altar with the Matrix star, unfortunately for her—and our readership!—Keanu is happily taken.
He and fiancée, Alexandra Grant, have been together since 2019. While they have been quietly planning a small wedding, no actual details about the date or ceremony have been released; it’s likely no information will be available until after the wedding occurs.
Even so, Reeves has no trouble finding a place in the headlines. Just last week, the internet was abuzz over a new Keanu anecdote: a fungus-killing bacteria was named after Reeves, as the scientists who discovered the bacteria said, “The lipopeptides kill so efficiently that we named them after Keanu Reeves because he, too, is extremely deadly in his roles.”
Reeves responded that it may be more apt to name the bacteria after his character, John Wick, but thanked them for the consideration and for their work.
If you can count on Keanu Reeves to be anything, it’s certainly humble!
