Celine Dion shared that she suffered from ‘Stiff Person Syndrome’ in December 2022, a rare neurological disorder. However, in the video, Dion also shared that she was in good spirits regarding her path forward, stating, “I have a great team of doctors working alongside me to help me get better and my precious children, who are supporting me and giving me hope.”
The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer is a mother to three boys, all of whom she shares with her late-husband René Angélil. Cion struggled with motherhood as she and Angélil struggled to conceive for six years.
Dion and Angélil welcomed their firstborn Rene-Charles, in 2001 after finding success using IVF treatments. Tragically Dion suffered a miscarriage when the couple tried for a second child.
In 2010, Dion and Angélil welcomed rainbow twins Eddy and Nelson.
According to reports, all three of Dion’s children have supported Dion throughout her ongoing battle with ‘Stiff Person Syndrome.’
“Her kids have been her rock … the twins are very mature for their age and René-Charles checks in and dotes on his mom all the time,” a source close to the Candian singer revealed exclusively to USWeekly. The source also stated that Dion is an eternal optimist regarding her path forward amidst the illness.
Dion’s illness forced the international superstar to cancel all her 2023-2024 Courage World Tour dates. However, Dion finished the heartbreaking announcement with some of the eternal optimism the USWeekly source described. I want you all to know I’m not giving up…and I can’t wait to see you again!” Dion said.
