Veteran actor James Caan, best known for his classic roles in Misery, The Godfather and Elf, passed away on Wednesday, according to his family.
He was 82, and had been active on Twitter in recent years, frequently sharing photos from his life and career.
“It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Jimmy on the evening of July 6,” the family shared in a tweet.
“The family appreciates the outpouring of love and heartfelt condolences and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time.”
In honor of James, who almost always finished his online posts with, “End of tweet,” his family ended the announcement the same way.
