Julia Roberts shared a heartwarming photo of herself and her husband, Danny Moder, to celebrate the couple’s 21 years of marriage. She captioned the Instagram photo “21. #truelove #heckyeah #fromhereonout.” Roberts, who is 55, and Moder, who is 54, have been married since 2002 after meeting on the set of “The Mexican” two years prior.
Even after two decades, the couple continues to grow in love together. While keeping the details of their personal lives out of the public eye, the couple’s individual social media pages are filled with declarations of love to one another on special occasions.
In 2022, the ‘Pretty Woman’ actress told ‘CBS This Morning’ that marrying Moder was part of her ‘dream come true life.’
“When I’m not working, being a housewife is my full-time job…it isn’t rainbows and kittens every day, but it does bring me a lot of joy. The life that I have built with my husband… the life that we’ve built with our children, that’s the best stuff – to come home at the end of the day, triumphantly, to them,” Roberts said.
Moder shared his own plethora of social media posts for his wife, including a particularly sweet one back in 2017 where Moder had a cheeky caption. “This pretty lady and I have been following each other around for a while,” he captioned an image of his wife. “Married 15 years today. And look how green our garden still is!!! Love you.”
Moder has always been outspoken about his support towards his Academy Award-winning wife. After Roberts had earned an Emmy nod for her role in The Normal Heart, which was an HBO movie focusing on the HIV-AIDS epidemic, “It was a challenging role,” he told The Hollywood Reporter. “It wasn’t a sexy role, but, wow, what she brought to it, I was really impressed.”
Roberts and Moder would go on to both be honored by the Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network for their efforts in raising awareness about the HIV virus.
