Sam Neill has recently revealed that while he is “not remotely afraid” of dying, despite knowing that his remission from stage-3 blood cancer is likely temporary.
“I know I’ve got it, but I’m not really interested in it. It’s out of my control. If you can’t control it, don’t get into it.”
Neill is using a “rare anti-cancer drug” to extend his life, but is aware that its effectiveness will not be indefinite.
Of his death, Neill says “I’m prepared for that” and acknowledges that the concept is “annoying”, but admits that retirement, rather than death, “scares the hell out of me.”
