Kelsey Grammer recently did an interview with USA Today, speaking about his new movie, Jesus Revolution, and the role faith has played in his life.
“I’ve had some tragic times,” he said. “I have wrestled with those and worked my way through them: sometimes rejecting faith, sometimes rejecting God even, in a period of being pretty angry about it, like, ‘Where were you?’ That kind of thing. But I have come to terms with it and have found great peace in my faith and in Jesus. It’s not cavalier – Jesus made a difference in my life. That’s not anything I’ll apologize for.”
In the movie, Grammer plays Chuck Smith, the head of the real-life Calvary Church.
“It’s really uplifting. It’s a good movie,” Grammer says. “My wife and I saw it together. She was just dissolved in tears and said, ‘It’s the best thing you’ve ever done.’ ”
Grammer’s wife, Kayte Walsh, is a stalwart figure in him life. Though, she admitted to Oprah Winfrey in 2012, “I’m not proud of the way we started out because he was in a marriage. I’m sorry. I have so many emotions. But you know, I fell in love. I don’t know how to word it, I don’t know how to put it into words.”
Grammer and Walsh famously got together over the first season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, while he was still married to Camille Grammer.
Now, Grammer is moving forward. As most well know, his show, Frasier, was the most popular spin-off of all time, building from a character established in the show, Cheers. Now, Frasier is coming back to television in a spin-off of a spin-off, also named Frasier. The show will premier on Paramount+.
