Kevin Costner is attesting that his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner’s, request for $248,000 monthly in child support is due to a “highly inflated and unsubstantiated” report of his wealth.
Costner said, in court documents on June 28th: “I will earn substantially less in 2023 than I did in 2022. This is because I am no longer under contract for Yellowstone, the principal source of my income last year. The fixed amount of ‘pay or play’ and episodic compensation I received has ceased. Now, any compensation I earn from Yellowstone will derive only from my back-end contractual participation rights, which amounts are not fixed.”
The documents also said that “guideline monthly child support based on Kevin’s gross cash flow available for support is $123,620.” He claims that the number Baumgartner suggested is outlandish and says that “providing the minor children with more than bare necessities does not require providing ludicrous extravagance designed to primarily benefit the supported parent.”
“Nor can I afford to pay those amounts and pay my living and business expenses without liquidating assets,” he attests.
