Christine Baumgartner has filed for divorce from her husband, Kevin Costner, after 18 years of marriage. Since then, Costner’s representatives have put out a statement asking for privacy.
“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action. We ask that his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”
Baumgartner and Costner met on the set of “Tin Cup” and their marriage would bring them three children, Caden, Hayes, and Grace. Costner has four other children from previous partners.
The pair recently were seen together via video, watching Costner receive his Golden Globe award for his starring role in “Yellowstone”. At the time, Costner said,
“We watched from home and it wasn’t the same.” Costner went onto explain how Baumgartner “realized that my heart was a little bit low,” and filled their living room with balloons, “because it was just going to be us and our family in the den watching the Golden Globes, something we imagined ourselves being there (for), something I dreamed about.”
This announcement comes during a precarious career spot for Costner, as it remains unclear whether or not he will continue his role on “Yellowstone”.
