‘Pitch Perfect’ Star Adam Devine spoke out about a murder that occurred outside his Hollywood Hills home. Following Devine’s revelation about the murder, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that a fatal shooting occurred, with 39-year-old Emil Lahaziel as the victim. Later reports confirmed that the stories were connected and that Lahaziel was Devine’s neighbor.
Devine revealed to This is Important podcast that he and his wife Chloe Bridgers were sitting out on their balcony when the crime occurred. Devine did mention that they saw someone ‘gunned down’ but was unclear whether or not they directly witnessed the crime.
“So, across the street from my house they are running this, like, crazy poker game, right?,” Devine said. “Where the People were rolling up in like Lamborghinis and Bentleys and Rolls-Royces. … I see these dudes and it is fun to sit and watch, [so] me and my wife, we’re sitting up on our balcony, and like, this looks crazy … this is where it gets sad. Someone was murdered there.”
The LAPD public information officer Drake Madison released a statement to People Magazine regarding the incident. “The suspect produced a handgun and fired multiple shots and those shots struck the victim. The suspect fled the scene east in a vehicle.”
No arrests have been made for the crime.
Emil Lahaziel was a wealthy man from Miami, Florida, and left behind five children and his wife, Lily Cohen, in the wake of his death.
