A former Georgia law enforcement officer was arrested and sentenced to life in prison following the murder of his girlfriend. According to WRDW-TV,
Jason Cunningham plead guilty to fatally shooting his girlfriend, Nicole Harrington following an argument between them in June 2020. Cunningham said that he shot Harrington in the back of the head after she insulted the ‘size of his manhood.’
WRDW reported that Cunningham and Harrington were having an affair and when Cunningham tried to break off their relationship, Harrington exploded. Cunningham shot the mother of three in the back of the head as she walked away to enter an elevator in the parking garage they were arguing in.
Cunningham left Harrington’s body in the elevator he fatally shot her in. After alerting authorities of his involvement, The Augusta Chronicle reports that Cunningham engaged in an eight hour stand-off with law enforcement.
In addition to his life sentence, Cunningham received another five years for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
