Fugitive Danelo Calvacante is still on the lam after escaping from a Chester County prison by crab-walking out of the exercise yard. Calvacante was imprisoned for stabbing his ex-girlfriend 38 times in front of her children, leading to her death.
Officials are calling Calvacante “extremely dangerous” and noting that he has nothing to lose.
“Residents in the area are asked to lock all doors and windows, secure vehicles, and remain indoors. Do not approach. Call 911 if seen,” the Pennsylvania State Police said in a statement.
So far, Calvacante has managed to steal a truck belonging to a dairy and a gun from a residential garage.
“No perimeter is 100% secure, ever. I’m not going to make excuses. I wish it had not happened,” Lt. Col. George Bivens said in a news interview regarding the truck theft. “This is a minor setback. We’ll get him. It’s only a matter of time.”
