Nicole Kidman is championing for the fight against human trafficking and raised 700,000 dollars in the process. In June, the actress visited the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auto show and assisted in the auction. She also gave away four meet-and-greet tickets for one of Keith Urban’s residency shows. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Kidman’s auctioneer skills were used in the sale of a rare 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170.
The auction was in support of Kristi House, an organization that aims to help combat human trafficking. According to their website the organization is dedicated to, “eradicating child abuse and child sex trafficking — working nationally on solutions, and locally to heal child-victims.”
The winning bid came along with another added prize. She offered up four meet-and-greet tickets to her husband Keith Urban’s spontaneously, joking that he would find out about it later.
Kidman shared a video to instagram praising the auction participants. The Demon 170 was originally sold first for 400,000 dollars but the first buyer pledged the money instead to the charity. The car was picked up for 300,000 during a second round of bidding. In an Instagram story Kidman wrote “So much love for the people that donated $700K!”
In addition to fundraising Kidman also made two appearances at local concerts including her husband and English superstar Adele. In posts made to social media, Kidman praised Adele’s performance and deemed her weekend in Vegas as ‘magical.’
Her husband honored his wife in March by playing a video of her on their wedding day to his song “Without You.”
“I wanted to do it in a very organic way and find the right song,” he told PEOPLE exclusively. “It was really more about choosing to do that song, ‘Without You,’ and how that felt like the right time for that.”
